The Center had the honor of hosting Dr. Nadine Burke Harris to launch her newly released book on adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), The Deepest Well: Healing the Long-Term Effects of Childhood Adversity. Dr. Burke Harris, now the first Surgeon General of California, has been a driving force in establishing the science that explains the potentially debilitating effects of adverse childhood experiences, or ACEs, on the physical and mental health of growing children.
