As 2024 comes to a close, we at the Center on Gender Justice & Opportunity are reflecting on our partnerships and the progress we achieved this past year. We know that new obstacles lie ahead to the work of protecting and advancing gender and racial justice, but this remains clear: We are steadfast in our commitment to champion gender and racial equity for girls, gender-expansive youth, and women everywhere.
As a testament to our unwavering commitment to our mission, we’re pleased to share our 2024 Highlights Report.
Our 2024 Highlights Report spotlights just some of our accomplishments this year, including these:
- We led 12 adultification bias trainings for more than 250 judges, attorneys, and students, and advocates.
- In partnership with the National Black Women’s Justice Institute, we launched the Justice for Youth Survivor’s Initiative (JYSI), which will work to keep survivors of gender-based violence safe and out of the legal system.
- We hosted events for the Georgetown community that featured experts, filmmakers, journalists, government officials, and survivors of gender-based violence.
- Our research was consistently cited in important outlets and resources, including WebMD’s Health and Parenting Guide.
