The Center kicks off its 10th anniversary with a powerful performance of “a love letter to Black girls”.

Logan Green, 16, won the 2021 national speech and debate tournament (spoken word category) for her poem about adultification bias. In her words:

“When I discovered ‘Girlhood Interrupted,’ I knew this study described exactly what I was going through; what many Black girls go through. I had to tell this story. This poem is a love letter to Black girls like me.”
